Most people see life as a battle, but it’s not a battle; it’s a game.

It is a game, however, that cannot be played successfully without understanding spiritual law, and the Old and New Testaments provide the rules of the game with remarkable clarity. Jesus Christ taught that it was a great game of Giving and Receiving.

“What a man plants, he will also harvest.” This means that whatever a person puts out into the world through their words or actions will come back to them; what they give is what they will receive.

If he gives hate, he'll get hate back; if he gives love, he'll get love back; if he criticizes, he'll be criticized; if he lies, he'll be lied to; if he cheats, he'll be cheated on. We're also taught that our imagination plays a key role in the game of life.

“Guard your heart (or imagination) with all diligence, for from it flow the issues of life.” (Prov. 4:23.)

This means that whatever a person imagines will eventually show up in their life. I know a guy[Pg 8] who was afraid of a certain disease. It was a really rare disease and hard to catch, but he kept visualizing it and reading about it until it actually appeared in his body, and he died, a victim of his twisted imagination.

So, to succeed in the game of life, we need to develop our ability to visualize. Someone who has trained their mind to focus only on positive images can attract “every righteous desire of their heart”—health, wealth, love, friendships, self-expression, and their greatest aspirations.

The imagination has been referred to as “The Scissors of The Mind,” and it constantly cuts, day by day, the images one sees there, and eventually, one encounters their own creations in the real world. To effectively train the imagination, a person must understand how their mind works. The Greeks said: “Know Thyself.”

There are three parts of the mind: the subconscious, conscious, and superconscious. The subconscious is just raw power, without direction. It’s like steam or electricity; it does what it’s told to do and has no ability to reason on its own.

Whatever a person feels deeply or imagines clearly gets impressed on the subconscious mind and is carried out in the smallest detail.

For example, a woman I know, when she was a child, always pretended to be a widow. She dressed in black clothes and wore a long black veil, and people thought she was very clever and entertaining. She grew up and married a man she loved deeply. Soon after, he died, and she wore black and a sweeping veil for many years. The image of herself as a widow was embedded in her subconscious, and eventually, it manifested, regardless of the chaos it caused.

The conscious mind has been referred to as the mortal or physical mind.

It is the human mind and sees life as it appears to be. It sees death, disaster, illness, poverty, and limitations of all kinds, and it impacts the subconscious.

The superconscious mind is the God Mind inside each person, and it's where perfect ideas exist.

In it is the “perfect pattern” that Plato talked about, The Divine Design; because there is a Divine Design for every person.

There’s a role only you can fill, a task only you can accomplish.

There is a perfect picture of this in the superconscious mind. It usually appears in the conscious as an ideal that seems out of reach—“something too good to be true.”

In reality, it's man's true destiny (or destination) revealed to him by the Infinite Intelligence that is within himself.

Many people, however, are unaware of their true destinies and are chasing things and situations that aren’t meant for them, which would only lead to failure and disappointment if achieved.

For example: A woman came to me and asked me to “speak the word” that she would marry a certain man she was very much in love with. (She called him A. B.)

I responded that this would go against spiritual laws, but that I would advocate for the right person, the “divine selection,” the one who was meant for her by divine right.

I added, “If A. B. is the right guy, you can’t let him go, and if he’s not, you’ll find someone just as good.” She saw A. B. often, but their friendship didn’t make any progress. One evening she called and said, “You know, for the past week, A. B. hasn’t seemed so great to me.” I replied, “Maybe he’s not the perfect choice—another guy might be the right one.” Soon after that, she met another man who immediately fell for her and told her she was his ideal. In fact, he said all the things she had always hoped A. B. would say to her.

She said, “It was really strange.”

She quickly returned his love and lost all interest in A. B.

This illustrates the law of substitution. A correct idea was replaced with an incorrect one, so there was no loss or sacrifice involved.

Jesus Christ said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you,” and He said the Kingdom is within you.

The Kingdom is the space of right ideas, or the divine blueprint.

Jesus Christ taught that a person's words play a major role in the game of life. “By your words you are justified and by your words you are condemned.”

Many people have brought trouble into their lives through careless words.

For example: A woman once asked me why her life had become one of poverty and limitations. In the past, she had a home, was surrounded by beautiful things, and had plenty of money. We discovered that she had often grown tired of managing her home and had repeatedly said, “I’m sick of this—I wish I lived out of a suitcase,” and she added, “Today I am living out of that suitcase.” She had talked herself into that situation. The subconscious mind doesn’t have a sense of humor, and people often joke their way into unhappy experiences.

For example: A woman with a lot of money constantly joked about “getting ready for the poorhouse.”

In just a few years, she was nearly broke, having imprinted her subconscious with an image of scarcity and restriction.

Fortunately, the law works both ways, and a situation of scarcity can be transformed into one of abundance.

For example: A woman came to me on a hot summer day seeking a "treatment" for prosperity. She looked exhausted, defeated, and downhearted. She said she only had eight dollars to her name. I replied, “Great, we’ll bless the eight dollars and multiply them just like Jesus Christ multiplied the loaves and the fishes,” because He taught that everyone has the power to bless and multiply, to heal, and to prosper.

She asked, "What should I do next?"

I said, “Trust your gut. Do you have a feeling to do something or go somewhere?” Intuition refers to that inner sense or the knowledge gained from within. It is a reliable guide for people, and I’ll explain its principles in more detail in a later chapter.

The woman said, “I don’t know—I just have this feeling to go home; I've got just enough money for the fare.” Her home was in a faraway city and was one of struggle and limits, and logic would suggest, “Stay in New York, find work, and make some money.” I said, “Then go home—never ignore a feeling.” I spoke the following words for her: “Infinite Spirit, open the way for great abundance for ——. She is an irresistible magnet for everything that belongs to her by divine right.” I told her to repeat it continuously too. She left for home right away. One day, while visiting a woman, she reconnected with an old family friend.

Through this friend, she received thousands of dollars in a truly amazing way. She has often told me, “Tell people about the woman who came to you with eight dollars and a gut feeling.”

There is always plenty on man’s path; but it can only be brought into reality through desire, faith or the spoken word. Jesus Christ made it clear that man must take the first step.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you.” (Mat. 7:7.)

In the Bible we read:

“About the things I've created, tell me what to do.”

Infinite Intelligence, God, is always ready to fulfill man's smallest or biggest requests.

Every desire, whether spoken or silent, is a demand. We're often surprised when a wish is suddenly granted.

For example: One Easter, after seeing many beautiful rose bushes in the flower shop windows, I hoped I would get one, and for a moment I envisioned it being brought through the door.

Easter arrived, bringing with it a lovely rose tree. I thanked my friend the next day and told her it was exactly what I wanted.

She replied, “I didn’t send you a rose bush, I sent you lilies!”

The man had mixed up the order and sent me a rose bush just because I had started the legal proceedings, and I had to get a rose bush.

Nothing stands between a person and their highest ideals or every desire of their heart, except doubt and fear. When a person can "wish without worrying," every desire will be instantly fulfilled.

I will explain more in a later chapter the scientific reason for this and how fear needs to be removed from our minds. It is humanity's only enemy—fear of not having enough, fear of failure, fear of illness, fear of losing things, and a sense of insecurity on some level. Jesus Christ said: “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” (Mat. 8:26.) So we can see we need to replace fear with faith, because fear is just faith turned upside down; it's faith in bad instead of good.

The goal of life is to clearly see the good and get rid of any negative thoughts. This can be achieved by impressing the subconscious mind with a sense of goodness. A very accomplished man, who has found great success, shared that he completely removed all fear from his mind after reading a sign in a room. It had the message printed in big letters: “Why worry, it will probably never happen.” These[Pg 14] words became permanently etched in his subconscious, and he is now firmly convinced that only good can come into his life, so only good can manifest.

In the next chapter, I will discuss the various ways to influence the subconscious mind. It’s always there to serve you, but you need to make sure you give it the right instructions. There’s always a quiet listener beside you—your subconscious mind.

Every thought and every word leaves an impression on it and is expressed in incredible detail. It’s like a singer recording on a sensitive vinyl. Every note and tone of the singer’s voice gets captured. If they cough or stumble, that gets captured too. So let’s erase all the old negative records in our subconscious, the memories from our lives that we don’t want to keep, and create new and beautiful ones.

Speak these words out loud, with strength and belief: “I now break and destroy (by my spoken word) every false record in my subconscious mind. They will go back to the dust-heap of their original nothingness, as they came from my own empty thoughts. I now create my perfect records through the Christ within—The records of Health, Wealth, Love, and perfect self-Expression.” This is the core of life, The Game completed.

In the following chapters, I will show how a person can change their circumstances by changing their words. Anyone who doesn’t understand the power of words is out of touch.

One of the most important messages conveyed to humanity through the scriptures is that God is man's source and that man can unlock, through his spoken word, everything that is rightfully his. He must, however, have complete faith in his spoken word.

Isaiah said, “My word will not come back to me empty, but will achieve what I sent it to do.” We now understand that words and thoughts are a powerful vibrational force, constantly shaping a person's body and life.

A woman approached me, clearly upset, and said she was being sued on the fifteenth of the month for three thousand dollars. She had no idea how to come up with the money and was feeling hopeless.

I told her that God is her source, and there's a source for every need.

So I said the word! I was grateful that the woman would get three thousand dollars at the right time and in the right way. I told her she needed to have complete faith and show her complete faith through her actions. The fifteenth came, but no money had shown up.

She called me on the phone and asked what she should do.

I replied, “It’s Saturday, so they won’t sue you today. Your job is to act like you’re wealthy, showing complete faith that you’ll get the money by Monday.” She invited me to lunch with her to boost her spirits. When I met her at a restaurant, I said, “This isn’t the time to save money. Order a fancy lunch and act as if you’ve already gotten the three thousand dollars.”

“All things you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.” “You should act as if you had already received.” The next morning she called me on the phone and asked me to stay with her during the day. I said, “No, you are divinely protected and God is never too late.”

In the evening, she called again, really excited, and said, “My dear, a miracle has happened! I was sitting in my room this morning when the doorbell rang. I told the maid, ‘Don’t let anyone in.’ But the maid looked out the window and said, ‘It’s your cousin with the long white beard.’”

So I said, ‘Call him back. I want to see him.’ He was just turning the corner when he heard the maid's voice, and he came back.

He spoke for about an hour, and just as he was leaving, he said, “Oh, by the way, how are things financially?”

I told him I needed the money, and he said, ‘Why, my dear, I’ll give you three thousand dollars at the start of the month.’

I didn’t want to tell him I was going to get sued. What should I do? I won’t get it until the first of the month, and I need it by tomorrow.” I said, “I’ll keep on treating.”

I said, “Spirit is never late. I’m grateful she has received the money on the invisible level and that it shows up just in time.” The next morning, her cousin called her and said, “Come to my office this morning, and I’ll give you the money.” That afternoon, she had three thousand dollars in her bank account and wrote checks as fast as her excitement would allow.

If someone asks for success but gets ready for failure, they'll end up with the situation they've prepared for. For instance, a guy came to me asking me to say that a specific debt would be erased.

I realized he was focused on what he would say to the guy when he didn’t pay his bill, which completely undermined my words. He should have imagined himself settling the debt.

We have a great example of this in the Bible, about the three kings who were in the desert, without water for their men and horses. They asked the prophet Elisha for help, and he delivered this surprising message:

"Thus says the Lord—You won’t see wind, and you won’t see rain, yet fill this valley with ditches."

Man must get ready for what he has asked for, even when there’s not the slightest hint of it in sight.

For example: A woman found it necessary to look for an apartment during the year when there was a huge shortage of apartments in New York. It was seen as almost impossible, and her friends felt sorry for her and said, “Isn’t it too bad, you’ll have to put your furniture in storage and live in a hotel.” She replied, “You don’t need to feel sorry for me, I’m a superman, and I’ll find an apartment.”

She said, “Infinite Spirit, please show me the right apartment.” She believed that there was enough for every need, and that she was “unconditioned,” operating on a spiritual level, and that “being one with God means you’re part of the majority.”

She thought about buying new blankets when the voice in her head said, “Don’t buy the blankets; maybe you won’t get an apartment, and they’ll just be useless.” She quickly countered that thought, telling herself, “I’ll make it happen by buying the blankets!” So she got ready for the apartment and acted like she already had it.

She found one in an amazing way, and it was given to her even though there were over two hundred other applicants.

The blankets demonstrated active faith.

It goes without saying that the ditches dug by the three kings in the desert were overflowing. (Read, II Kings.)

Getting into the spiritual groove isn't easy for most people. Doubts and fears bubble up from the subconscious. They're like the "army of intruders" that needs to be chased away. This is why it's often said that it's "darkest before the dawn."

A big demonstration is often preceded by tormenting thoughts.

Having expressed a profound spiritual truth, one confronts the outdated beliefs in the subconscious, and "error is revealed" to be eliminated.

This is the time when one must continually affirm the truth and celebrate while giving[Pg 19] thanks for what he has already received. “Before you call, I shall answer.” This means that “every good and perfect gift” is already available to everyone, waiting for his acknowledgment.

Man can only accept what he believes he can receive.

The people of Israel were told that they could have all the land they could see. This applies to everyone. A person only has the land within their own mental vision. Every great achievement and major success has come into being through maintaining that vision, and often just before reaching the big milestone, there comes noticeable failure and discouragement.

The Israelites, when they arrived at the "Promised Land," were scared to enter because they believed it was full of giants who made them feel tiny, like grasshoppers. "And there we saw the giants, and we felt like grasshoppers in our own eyes." This is a common experience for many people.

However, the one who understands spiritual law remains calm in the face of appearances and finds joy while still being “in captivity.” In other words, he stays focused on his vision and expresses gratitude that the outcome is already achieved, and he has received what he desires.

Jesus Christ provided a great example of this. He told his disciples: “Don’t say there are still four months until the harvest. Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes and see the fields; they are already ripe for harvest.” His clear vision went beyond the “world of matter” and allowed him to see the fourth-dimensional world, recognizing things as they truly are—perfect and complete in Divine Mind. So[Pg 20] we must always keep the vision of our journey’s end in mind and expect the manifestation of what we have already received. This could be perfect health, love, abundance, self-expression, home, or friends.

They are all complete and perfect ideas stored in the Divine Mind (which is essentially man’s own superconscious mind) and must come through him, not to him. For example: A man approached me asking for help in achieving success. It was crucial for him to raise fifty thousand dollars for his business within a certain time frame. The deadline was fast approaching when he came to me feeling hopeless. No one wanted to invest in his venture, and the bank had outright denied his loan application. I replied, “I assume you lost your cool while at the bank, which caused you to lose your power. You can manage any situation if you first master yourself.” “Go back to the bank,” I added, “and I will help you.” My guidance was: “You are aligned in love with the spirit of everyone at the bank. Let the divine idea emerge from this situation.” He responded, “You’re talking about something impossible. Tomorrow is Saturday; the bank closes at noon, and my train won’t get me there until ten, and the deadline is tomorrow, plus they won’t do it. It’s too late.” I answered, “God doesn’t operate on a timeline and is never too late. With Him, all things are possible.” I continued, “I may not know much about business, but I know a lot about God.” He replied, “It all sounds great while I’m here listening to you, but once I leave, it feels awful.” He lived in a faraway city, and I didn’t hear from him for a week, then I received a letter. It said: “You were right. I raised the money, and I will never doubt the truth of everything you told me again.”

I saw him a few weeks later and said, “What happened? You clearly had more than enough time, right?” He replied, “My train was late, and I arrived just fifteen minutes to twelve. I walked into the bank casually and said, ‘I’m here for the loan,’ and they handed it to me without any questions.”

It was the last fifteen minutes of the time given to him, and Infinite Spirit wasn’t too late. In this case, the man could never have succeeded on his own. He needed someone to help him stay focused on the vision. This is what one person can do for another.

Jesus Christ understood this truth when he said: "If two of you agree on something here on earth and ask for it, my Father in heaven will do it for them." People often become too involved in their own issues and start to feel doubtful and scared.

The friend or "healer" clearly sees the success, health, or prosperity and never doubts it because he's not personally involved in the situation.

It's much easier to “show” someone else than it is to show yourself, so you shouldn't hesitate to ask for help if you're feeling unsure.

A sharp observer of life once said, “no man can fail if someone sees him succeed.” That’s the power of vision, and many great individuals have credited their success to a wife, sister, or friend who “believed in him” and consistently held on to the perfect example!

A person who understands the power of words becomes very mindful of their conversations. They just need to observe how their words affect others to realize that they truly “do not return void.” Through their spoken words, people are constantly creating rules for themselves.

I knew a guy who said, “I always miss a car. It always pulls out just as I'm getting there.”

His daughter said, “I always catch a ride. It always shows up just as I get there.” This happened for years. Each of them created their own rule, one leading to failure and the other to success. This is the psychology behind superstitions.

The horseshoe or rabbit’s foot holds no real power, but a person's spoken words and belief that it will bring them good luck create an expectation in the subconscious mind, attracting a “lucky situation.” However, I find that this doesn't "work" when a person has spiritually advanced and understands a higher law. One cannot go back and must let go of “graven images.” For instance, two men in my class experienced great success in business for several months, but then suddenly everything fell apart. We tried to analyze the situation, and I discovered that instead of affirming their intentions and looking to God for success and prosperity, they had each purchased a “lucky monkey.” I said: “Oh, I see, you have been relying on the lucky monkeys instead of on God.” “Put away the lucky monkeys and embrace the law of forgiveness,” because a person has the power to forgive or neutralize their mistakes.

They decided to toss the lucky monkeys down a coal hole, and everything went back to normal. This doesn’t mean, though, that you should get rid of every “lucky” ornament or horseshoe in your home. You just have to realize that the true power behind it is the one and only power, God, and that the object simply gives you a sense of anticipation.

I was with a friend one day who was really down. While crossing the street, she found a horseshoe. Right away, she felt a rush of joy and hope. She said God had sent her the horseshoe to lift her spirits.

It was truly, at that moment, the only thing that could have registered in her mind. Her hope turned into faith, and she ultimately made an amazing demonstration. I want to clarify that the men mentioned earlier were relying solely on the monkeys, while this woman understood the power behind the horseshoe.

I know that for me, it took a long time to break the belief that something always led to disappointment. Whenever that thing happened, disappointment always followed. I realized the only way to change my subconscious was by telling myself, “There aren’t two powers, there’s only one power, God; therefore, there are no disappointments, and this situation means a happy surprise.” I noticed a difference immediately, and happy surprises started coming my way.

I have a friend who said nothing could convince her to walk under a ladder. I said, “If you’re scared, you’re giving in to the belief in two powers, Good and Evil, instead of just one. Since God is absolute, there can’t be any opposing power unless people create the illusion of evil for themselves. To show that you believe in only One Power, God, and that there’s no real power in evil, walk under the next ladder you see.” Soon after, she went to her bank. She wanted to access her box in the safe-deposit vault, and there was a ladder in her way. It was impossible to get to the box without going under the ladder. She was filled with fear and turned back. She couldn’t face the challenge in her path. However, once she got outside, my words echoed in her mind, and she decided to go back and walk under it. It was a significant moment in her life since ladders had held her captive for years. She retraced her steps to the vault, and the ladder was gone! This happens so often! If someone is willing to do something they’re afraid of, they might not have to do it after all.

It’s the principle of nonresistance, which is not well understood at all.

Someone has said that courage has a sense of genius and magic. If you confront a situation without fear, it loses its power over you; it just fades away on its own.

The explanation is that fear drew the ladder[Pg 25] onto the woman’s path, and being fearless took it away.

So, the invisible forces are always working for a person who is constantly “pulling the strings” themselves, even if they don’t realize it. Because of the vibrational power of words, whatever someone says, they start to attract. People who frequently talk about sickness inevitably end up attracting it.

After a person knows the truth, they have to be really careful about what they say. For instance, I have a friend who often says on the phone, “Please come see me and let’s have a nice old-fashioned chat.” This “old-fashioned chat” actually turns out to be an hour filled with about five hundred to a thousand negative words, mainly talking about loss, lack, failure, and sickness.

I respond, “No, thank you, I’ve had enough old-fashioned conversations in my life; they’re too costly. But I’d be happy to have a modern conversation and discuss what we want, not what we don’t want.” There’s an old saying that a person only dares to use their words for three purposes: to “heal, bless, or prosper.” What someone says about others will be said about them, and what they wish for another is what they’re wishing for themselves.

“Curses, like chickens, always come back home.”

If a guy hopes for someone to have “bad luck,” he’s definitely going to bring bad luck upon himself. If he wants to help someone succeed, he’s ultimately helping himself succeed too.

The body can be refreshed and changed through verbal expression and clear understanding, and illness can be totally erased from awareness. The metaphysician understands that every illness has a mental counterpart, and to heal the body, one must first "heal the soul."

The soul is the subconscious mind, and it needs to be "saved" from negative thinking.

In the twenty-third psalm, we read: “He restores my soul.” This means that the subconscious mind or soul needs to be filled with the right ideas, and the “mystical marriage” signifies the union of the soul and the spirit, or the subconscious and superconscious mind. They need to become one. When the subconscious is filled with the perfect ideas from the superconscious, God and man are united. “I and the Father are one.” In other words, he is unified with the realm of perfect ideas; he is the person created in God’s likeness and image (imagination) and is given power and control over all aspects of his life, including his mind, body, and circumstances.

It’s fair to say that all illness and unhappiness stem from breaking the law of love. I give you a new commandment: “Love one another,” and in the Game of Life, love or goodwill wins every time.

For example, a woman I know had the appearance of a terrible skin disease for years. The doctors told her it was incurable, and she was in despair. She was on stage and feared she would have to give up her career since she had no other means of support. However, she landed a great role, and on opening night, she made a big impression. She received glowing reviews from the critics and felt joyful and elated. The next day, though, she received a dismissal notice. A man in the cast, jealous of her success, had caused her to be let go. Hatred and resentment took over her, and she cried out, “Oh God, don’t let me hate that man.” That night, she worked for hours “in the silence.”[Pg 27]

She said, “I quickly fell into a deep silence. I felt at peace with myself, with the man, and with the entire world. I maintained this for the next two nights, and by the third day, I discovered that I was completely healed of the skin condition!” By seeking love or goodwill, she had followed the law, (“for love is the fulfillment of the law”), and the disease, which stemmed from subconscious resentment, was eliminated.

Continual criticism leads to rheumatism, as critical and disharmonious thoughts create unnatural deposits in the blood that settle in the joints.

False growths are caused by jealousy, hatred, unforgiveness, fear, and so on. Every disease stems from a mind that isn’t at peace. I once said in my class, “There’s no point in asking anyone ‘What’s wrong with you?’ we might as well ask, ‘Who’s wrong with you?’” Unforgiveness is the biggest cause of disease. It can harden arteries or the liver and impact eyesight. Following it are countless ailments.

I visited a woman one day who claimed she was sick from eating a poisoned oyster. I replied, “Oh, no, the oyster was fine; you poisoned the oyster. What’s wrong with you?” She answered, “Oh, about nineteen people.” She had argued with nineteen people and had become so out of sync that she ended up attracting the wrong oyster.

Any disharmony on the outside indicates there's mental disharmony. “As within, so without.”

Man’s only enemies are within himself. “And a[Pg 28] man’s foes shall be those of his own household.” Personality is one of the last challenges to overcome, as this world is learning to embrace love. It was Christ’s message—“Peace on Earth, good will towards man.” The enlightened person, therefore, strives to improve himself for the benefit of his neighbor. His focus is on himself, sending out goodwill and blessings to everyone, and the incredible thing is, if you bless a person, they have no power to harm you.

For example: A man came to me asking for help to achieve success in business. He was selling machinery, and a competitor showed up with what he claimed was a better machine, which made my friend worried about failing. I said, “First, we need to eliminate all fear and understand that God protects your interests, and that the right outcome will come from this situation. In other words, the right machine will be sold by the right person to the right person.” I added, “Don’t think anything negative about that guy. Bless him all day, and be open to the idea of not selling your machine if it’s not the best choice.” So he went to the meeting, feeling brave and unresistant while blessing the other guy. He said the result was really surprising. The competitor's machine didn’t work at all, and he was able to sell his machine without any trouble. “But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who insult you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and chase you down.”

Goodwill creates a strong protective atmosphere around the person who gives it, and “No weapon formed against them shall succeed.” In other words, love and goodwill eliminate the inner enemies, so one has no external enemies!

“There is peace on earth for those who wish well to others!”

Nothing on earth can stand up to a completely nonresistant person.

The Chinese believe that water is the most powerful element because it offers no resistance. It can erode a rock and carry everything away with it.

Jesus Christ said, “Don’t resist evil,” because He understood that, in truth, there is no evil, so there’s nothing to resist. Evil arises from human “vain imagination” or a belief in two opposing forces: good and evil.

There’s an old legend that Adam and Eve ate from “Maya the Tree of Illusion” and saw two powers instead of one power, God.

So, evil is a false law that people have created for themselves through psychoma or soul sleep. Soul sleep means that a person's soul has been hypnotized by collective beliefs (like sin, sickness, and death, etc.), which are based on physical or temporary thoughts, and their life reflects these illusions.

We've read in a previous chapter that a person's soul is their subconscious mind, and whatever they feel deeply, whether positive or negative, is expressed by that loyal servant. Their body and circumstances reflect what they've been envisioning. The sick person has envisioned illness, the poor person, poverty, and the wealthy person, wealth.

People often ask, “Why does a little kid get sick when they are too young to even understand what it means?”

I respond that kids are sensitive and open to what others think about them, and they often reflect the worries of their parents.

I once heard a metaphysician say, “If you don’t take control of your subconscious mind, someone else will take control for you.”

Mothers often, without realizing it, attract illness and disaster to their children by constantly thinking about fear and looking for symptoms.

For example: A friend asked a woman if her little girl had the measles. She quickly replied, “not yet!” This suggested that she was waiting for the illness and, as a result, getting ready for something she didn’t want for herself and her child.

However, a person who is grounded and has a clear mindset, someone who radiates goodwill to others and acts without fear, cannot be affected or swayed by the negative thoughts of others. In fact, they can only receive positive thoughts, because they themselves only project positive thoughts.

Resistance is Hell because it puts a person in a "state of torment."

A metaphysician once shared an amazing strategy for mastering every challenge in life; it’s the ultimate form of nonresistance. He explained it this way: “At one point in my life, I baptized children, and they all had different names. Now, I don’t baptize children anymore, but I baptize events, and I give every event the same name. If I experience a failure, I call it success, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!”[Pg 32]

In this, we see the powerful law of change, based on not resisting. Through his words, every failure was transformed into success.

For example: A woman who needed money and understood the spiritual principle of abundance was constantly dealing with a man who made her feel very poor. He talked about scarcity and limitations, and she started to internalize his thoughts of lack, which led her to dislike him and blame him for her struggles. She realized that to attract her own abundance, she first needed to feel that she had received—a sense of abundance must come before it can be realized.

One day, it hit her that she was resisting the situation and seeing two different powers instead of one. So she decided to bless the man and named the situation “Success”! She affirmed, “Since there is only one power, God, this man is here for my benefit and my prosperity” (which is not what he seemed to be there for). Shortly after, she met, through this man, a woman who rewarded her for a service she provided with several thousand dollars, and the man moved to a faraway city and smoothly faded out of her life. Make the statement, “Every man is a golden link in the chain of my good,” because all men are God in manifestation, waiting for the opportunity given by man himself to serve the divine plan of his life.

“Bless your enemy, and you take away his power.” His arrows will turn into blessings.

This law applies to nations just as much as it does to individuals. If you bless a nation and send love and goodwill to every person in it, that nation loses its ability to do harm.

Man can only truly understand nonresistance through spiritual insight. My students have often said, “I don’t want to be a doormat.” I respond, “When you practice nonresistance wisely, no one will ever be able to walk over you.”

Another example: One day I was anxiously waiting for an important phone call. I ignored every call that came in and didn’t make any outgoing calls myself, thinking that it might mess up the one I was expecting.

Instead of saying, “Divine ideas never conflict, the call will come at the right time,” and trusting Infinite Intelligence to handle it, I started to take control myself—I made the struggle personal, not God’s, and stayed tense and anxious. The phone didn’t ring for almost an hour, and when I looked at the phone, I realized the receiver had been off that whole time, and the line was disconnected. My anxiety, fear, and belief in interference caused a total blackout of the phone. Realizing what I had done, I immediately began to bless the situation; I called it “success,” and affirmed, “I can’t miss any call that is mine by divine right; I am under grace, and not under law.”

A friend hurried to the nearest phone to tell the Company to reconnect.

She walked into a busy grocery store, but the owner set aside his customers to take care of the call himself. My phone connected right away, and two[Pg 34] minutes later, I got a really important call, and about an hour after that, I received the one I had been waiting for.

Your opportunities come when things are stable.

As long as a person fights against a situation, they will keep facing it. If they try to escape from it, it will chase after them.

For example: I told this to a woman one day, and she said, “How true that is! I was unhappy at home, I didn’t get along with my mother, who was critical and controlling; so I ran away and got married—but I ended up marrying someone just like my mother, and I found myself in the same situation all over again.” “Agree with your opponent quickly.”

That means, accept that the difficult situation is beneficial, remain unbothered by it, and it will fade away on its own. “None of these things move me,” is an excellent affirmation.

The discordant situation arises from some disharmony within a person himself.

When he has no emotional reaction to a bad situation, it disappears from his life forever.

So we see that a person's work is always connected to themselves.

People have told me, “Help me change my husband or my brother.” I respond, “No, I’ll help you change yourself; when you change, your husband and your brother will change.”

One of my students had a habit of lying. I told her it was a bad strategy and that if she lied, people would lie to her. She replied, “I don’t care, I can’t possibly get by without lying.”

One day she was on the phone with a guy she was really in love with. She turned to me and said, “I don’t trust him, I know he’s lying to me.” I replied, “Well, you lie yourself, so someone has to lie to you, and you can bet it’ll be the exact person you want the truth from.” Some time later, I saw her again, and she said, “I’m done with lying.”

I asked, “What healed you?”

She replied, “I’ve been living with a woman who lied even more than I did!”

One often gets over their flaws by seeing them in others.

Life is a mirror, and we see only ourselves reflected in the people we surround ourselves with.

Living in the past is a flawed approach and goes against spiritual principles.

Jesus Christ said, “Look, this is the right time.” “Today is the day of Salvation.”

Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt.

The robbers of time are the past and the future. People should appreciate the past and let it go if it holds them back, and embrace the future, knowing it promises endless joys, but live fully in the now.

For example: A woman came to me, complaining that she had no money to buy[Pg 36] Christmas gifts. She said, “Last year was so different; I had plenty of money and gave great presents, and this year I have barely a cent.”

I said, “You’ll never attract money if you’re feeling sorry for yourself and stuck in the past. Live fully in the now, and get ready to give Christmas gifts. Dig your ditches, and the money will flow in.” She said, “I know what I’ll do! I’ll buy some tinsel, Christmas seals, and wrapping paper.” I said, “Do that, and the gifts will come and attach themselves to the Christmas seals.”

This also showed financial confidence and trust in God, as the logical mind said, “Hold onto every cent you have because you can’t be sure you’ll earn any more.”

She bought the seals, paper, and twine, and a few days before Christmas, she received a gift of several hundred dollars. Buying the seals and twine had created a sense of anticipation in her mind and made room for the money to come into her life. She bought all the presents well in advance.

Man must live in the moment.

“Pay close attention to this Day! That’s the greeting of the Dawn.”

He needs to be spiritually aware, constantly watching for his opportunities and making the most of every chance he gets.

One day, I kept saying to myself, “Infinite Spirit, don’t let me miss anything,” and that evening, I received some really important advice. It’s essential to start the day with the right words.

Make a positive statement right after you wake up.

Understood. Please provide the text you would like me to modernize.

“Your will be done today! Today is a day of [Pg 37] completion; I give thanks for this perfect day, one miracle will follow another, and wonders will never cease.”

Make this a habit, and you'll see amazing things and miracles happen in your life.

One morning I picked up a book and read, “Look with wonder at what’s in front of you!” It felt like my message for the day, so I kept repeating, “Look with wonder at what’s in front of you.”

At around noon, I was given a large amount of money, which I had been wanting for a specific reason.

In a later chapter, I’ll share the affirmations that I’ve found to be the most effective. However, you should never use an affirmation unless it feels completely satisfying and convincing to you. Often, an affirmation is adjusted to fit different individuals.

For example: The following has helped many succeed:

“I have a great job, in a great way, I provide great service, for great pay!”

I gave the first two lines to one of my students, and she added the last two.

It made a really strong statement, as there should always be fair compensation for excellent service, and a rhyme sticks easily in the mind. She started singing it out loud and soon received amazing work in an amazing way, and provided amazing service for amazing pay.

Another student, a businessman, took it and changed the word work to business.

He repeated, “I have a great business, in a[Pg 38] great way, and I provide great service for great pay.” That afternoon he closed a forty-one-thousand dollar deal, even though there had been no activity in his business for months.

Every affirmation must be carefully phrased and fully "cover all the bases."

For example: I knew a woman who was in desperate need and asked for work. She got a lot of work, but was never paid anything. Now she understands to add, “great service for great pay.”

It’s a person's natural right to have plenty! More than enough!

“His barns should be full, and his cup should overflow!” This is God’s vision for humanity, and when people break down the barriers of scarcity in their own minds, the Golden Age will be theirs, and every righteous desire of their hearts fulfilled!

Man gets back what he puts out. The Game of Life is like a game of boomerangs. A person's thoughts, actions, and words come back to them eventually, with incredible precision.

This is the law of Karma, which means "Comeback" in Sanskrit. "Whatever a person sows, that will they also reap."

For example: A friend shared this story about herself to illustrate the point. She said, “I create all my Karma with my aunt; whatever I say to her, someone says back to me. I often get irritable at home, and one day I told my aunt, who was talking to me during dinner, ‘No more talking, I want to eat in peace.’”

“The next day, I was having lunch with a woman I wanted to impress. I was chatting enthusiastically when she said: ‘No more talking, I want to eat in peace!’”

My friend is very aware, so her Karma[Pg 40] comes back to her much faster than it does for someone who is focused on the mental level.

The more a person knows, the more they are responsible for, and someone who understands Spiritual Law but doesn’t apply it suffers greatly as a result. “The fear of the Lord (law) is the beginning of wisdom.” If we interpret the word Lord as law, it will clarify many passages in the Bible.

“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord” (law). It is the law that takes vengeance, not God. God sees man as perfect, “created in his own image,” (imagination) and given “power and dominion.”

This is the ideal concept of a person, recorded in the Divine Mind, waiting for a person’s acknowledgment; because a person can only become what they believe themselves to be and can only achieve what they envision themselves achieving.

“Nothing ever happens without a spectator” is an old saying.

Man first sees his failure or success, his joy or sorrow, before it becomes clear from the scenes created in his own mind. We have noticed this in a mother imagining her child getting sick, or a woman envisioning her husband's success.

Jesus Christ said, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

So, we see that freedom (from all unhappy conditions) comes from knowledge—a knowledge of Spiritual Law.

Obedience comes before authority, and the law serves humanity when we follow it. The law of electricity must be respected before it can work for us. When mishandled, it can become a dangerous enemy. It's the same with the laws of the mind! [Pg 41]

For example: A woman with a strong personal will wanted to own a house that belonged to someone she knew, and she often imagined herself living in that house. Eventually, the man passed away, and she moved into the house. Several years later, after learning about Spiritual Law, she asked me, “Do you think I had anything to do with that man’s death?” I replied, “Yes, your desire was so strong that everything aligned for it, but you had to pay your Karmic debt. Your husband, whom you loved dearly, died soon after, and the house became a burden for you for years.”

The original owner, however, wouldn’t have been influenced by her thoughts if he had been certain about the truth, nor would her husband, but they were both bound by Karmic law. The woman should have said (feeling the strong desire for the house), “Infinite Intelligence, give me the right house, just as charming as this one, the house that is mine by divine right.”

The divine choice would have provided perfect contentment and benefited everyone. The divine blueprint is the only reliable guide to follow.

Desire is a powerful force and needs to be channeled properly; otherwise, chaos happens.

In demonstrating, the most important step is the first step, to “ask correctly.”

Man should always claim only what is rightfully his by divine right.

To return to the example: If the woman had taken this stance: “If this house that I want is mine, I can’t lose it; if it’s not, give me something just as good,” the man might have chosen to move out peacefully (if that was meant to happen for her) or another house could have been provided. Anything that is forced into existence through personal desire is always “ill-gotten” and tends to lead to “bad outcomes.”

Man is warned, “My will be done, not yours, and the interesting thing is, man always gets exactly what he wants when he lets go of personal will, allowing Infinite Intelligence to work through him.”

“Stop and see the salvation of the Lord” (law).

For example: A woman came to me in great distress. Her daughter had decided to take a very risky trip, and the mother was overwhelmed with fear.

She said she had used every argument, pointed out the dangers involved, and forbidden her from going, but her daughter became more and more rebellious and determined. I said to the mother, “You are imposing your will on your daughter, which you have no right to do, and your fear about the trip is only making it more likely to happen, because we attract what we fear.” I added, “Let go, and take your mental hands off; put it in God’s Hands, and use this statement:” “I put this situation in the hands of Infinite Love and Wisdom; if this trip is part of the Divine plan, I bless it and will no longer resist. But if it’s not divinely planned, I give thanks that it is now dissolved and dissipated.” A day or two later,[Pg 43] her daughter said to her, “Mother, I have given up the trip,” and the situation returned to its “native nothingness.”

It is learning to "stay put," which seems so hard for people. I have discussed this rule more thoroughly in the chapter on nonresistance.

I’ll provide another example of sowing and reaping, which came in a really interesting way.

A woman came to me saying she had received a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill from the bank. She was very upset because she said, “The people at the bank will never admit their mistake.”

I responded, “Let’s take a closer look at the situation and figure out why this happened to you.” She thought for a moment and then exclaimed, “I get it! I sent a friend a bunch of fake cash, just for fun.” So, the universe had sent her some fake cash, since it doesn’t understand jokes.

I said, “Now we will use the law of forgiveness to neutralize the situation.”

Christianity is based on the principle of forgiveness—Christ has freed us from the burden of Karmic law, and the Christ within each person is their Redeemer and Salvation from all discordant situations.

So I said: “Infinite Spirit, we ask for the law of forgiveness and appreciate that she is under grace and not under law, and cannot lose this twenty dollars that is hers by divine right.”

“Now,” I said, “Go back to the bank and tell them, confidently, that it was given to you by mistake.”

She complied, and to her surprise, they apologized and handed her another bill, treating her very politely.

So knowing the Law gives a person the ability to "erase their mistakes." A person can't make the outside world be something they're not.

If he wants wealth, he needs to be wealthy in his mindset first.

For example: A woman came to me looking for help with prosperity. She wasn't very interested in her household duties, and her home was in complete chaos.

I said to her, “If you want to be rich, you have to be organized. All the wealthy people are organized—and order is the first law of heaven.” I added, “You’ll never get rich with a burnt match in the pincushion.”

She had a great sense of humor and got started right away, organizing her home. She moved furniture around, tidied up drawers, cleaned the rugs, and soon made a significant financial move—a gift from a relative. The woman transformed herself, staying financially alert by always being mindful of her surroundings and expecting success, knowing that God is her source.

Many people don't realize that gifts and possessions are investments, and that holding onto them and saving too much usually results in loss.

“There are those who give freely and end up with more, while there are those who hold back too much and end up in poverty.”

For example: I knew a guy who wanted to buy a[Pg 45] fur-lined overcoat. He and his wife visited several stores, but none of them were what he wanted. He said they all looked too cheap. Finally, he was shown one that the salesman claimed was worth a thousand dollars, but the manager would sell it to him for five hundred dollars since it was late in the season.

His financial assets totaled about seven hundred dollars. A logical person would have thought, “You can’t afford to spend almost all your money on a coat,” but he was very intuitive and never thought things through.

He turned to his wife and said, “If I get this coat, I’ll make a lot of money!” So his wife agreed, half-heartedly.

About a month later, he got a ten-thousand-dollar commission. The coat made him feel so wealthy; it connected him to success and prosperity. Without the coat, he wouldn’t have landed the commission. It was an investment that paid off big time!

If a person ignores these inclinations to spend or give, the same amount of money will be spent in a dull or unhappy manner.

For example: A woman told me, on Thanksgiving Day, she informed her family that they couldn’t afford a Thanksgiving dinner. She had the money, but chose to save it.

A few days later, someone went into her room and took out of the dresser drawer the exact amount that the dinner would have cost.

The law always supports the person who spends confidently and wisely.

For example: One of my students was shopping[Pg 46] with her little nephew. The kid begged for a toy, which she told him she couldn't afford to buy.

She suddenly realized that she was looking for emptiness, instead of recognizing God as her source!

So she bought the toy, and on her way home, picked up, in the street, the exact amount of money she had paid for it.

Man's supply is unlimited and reliable when fully trusted, but belief or trust must come first before seeing results. "According to your faith, let it be done to you." "Faith is the essence of things hoped for, the proof of things not seen—" because faith keeps the vision clear, and the negative images fade away, and "in due time we will reap if we don't give up."

Jesus Christ brought the good news (the gospel) that there is a higher principle than the law of Karma—and that this principle goes beyond the law of Karma. It is the law of grace, or forgiveness. It is the law that frees people from the law of cause and effect—the law of consequence. “Under grace, and not under law.”

We’re told that on this level, people benefit from what they haven’t worked for; God’s gifts are freely given to them. “Everything the Kingdom offers is his.” This ongoing happiness is in store for those who have surpassed worldly thinking.

In the world, there is trouble, but Jesus Christ said, “Be happy; I have overcome the world.”

The world sees sin, sickness, and death as real. He recognized that they are completely unreal and declared that sickness and sorrow will fade away, and even death, the final enemy, will be defeated.[Pg 47]

We now understand, from a scientific perspective, that death can be overcome by imprinting the subconscious mind with the belief in eternal youth and everlasting life.

The subconscious, being just raw power without a specific direction, executes commands without questioning.

Working under the guidance of the superconscious (the Christ or God within us), the “resurrection of the body” would be achieved.

Man would no longer shed his body in death; it would be transformed into the "electric body," as sung by Walt Whitman, because Christianity is based on the forgiveness of sins and "an empty tomb."

When a person understands their own abilities and how their mind works, they really want to discover a simple and fast way to influence their subconscious positively, because just knowing the Truth intellectually won’t lead to any real change.

In my experience, I found that the easiest way is by “casting the burden.”

A metaphysician once explained it like this. He said, “The only thing that gives anything weight in nature is the law of gravitation, and if you were to take a boulder high above the planet, it would have no weight. That’s what Jesus Christ meant when he said: ‘My yoke is easy and my burden is light.’”

He had transcended the world's chaos and operated in the fourth-dimensional realm, where only perfection, wholeness, life, and joy exist.

He said: “Come to me all of you who are working hard and feeling weighed down, and I will give you rest.” “Take my yoke upon you, because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

We are also told in the fifty-fifth Psalm to “cast your burden upon the Lord.” Many passages in the[Pg 49] Bible state that the battle is God’s, not man’s, and that we are always to “stand still” and see the Salvation of the Lord.

This shows that the superconscious mind (or the Christ within) is the part that fights our battles and helps us carry our burdens.

We see, then, that a person breaks the law if they carry a burden, and a burden is a negative thought or condition, and this thought or condition comes from the subconscious.

It feels nearly impossible to guide the subconscious from the conscious, or reasoning mind, since the reasoning mind (the intellect) is restricted in its understanding and filled with doubts and fears.

How scientific it is to put the burden on the superconscious mind (or Christ within) where it is “lightened” or dissolved into its “original nothingness.”

For example: A woman in urgent need of money, “turned to” the Christ within, the superconscious, with the statement, “I release this burden of lack to the Christ (within) and I am free to have abundance!”

The belief in scarcity weighed her down, and as she transferred it to the Superconscious, which believed in abundance, an overwhelming amount of supply followed.

We read, “The Christ in you is the hope of glory.”

Another example: One of my students had received a new piano, but there wasn't any space in her studio for it until she moved out the old one. She was really confused. She wanted to keep the old piano but didn't know where to send it. She[Pg 50] became desperate, as the new piano was supposed to arrive immediately; in fact, it was already on its way with nowhere to go. She found herself repeating, “I cast this burden on the Christ within, and I go free.”

A few moments later, her phone rang, and a woman friend asked if she could rent her old piano, which was moved out just a few minutes before the new one arrived.

I knew a woman who was weighed down by resentment. She said, “I release this burden of resentment to the Christ within me, and I set myself free to be loving, harmonious, and happy.” The Divine consciousness filled her subconscious with love, and her entire life transformed. For years, resentment had tormented her and kept her soul (the subconscious mind) trapped.

The statement should be repeated continuously, sometimes for hours at a time, either silently or aloud, with a sense of calm yet firm resolve.

I have often compared it to winding up a record player. We need to wind ourselves up with spoken words.

I've noticed that when you "cast the burden," after a while, things start to come into focus. It's hard to see clearly when you're caught up in worldly concerns. Doubts and fears taint your mind and body, and your imagination can get out of control, bringing in problems and illness.

In consistently saying, “I release this burden to the Christ within and find freedom,” the vision becomes clearer, bringing a sense of relief, and eventually comes the manifestation of good, whether it’s health, happiness, or abundance.

One of my students once asked me to explain the “darkness before the dawn.” I mentioned in a previous [Pg 51] chapter that often, before a major breakthrough, “everything seems to go wrong,” and a deep sense of despair weighs heavily on the mind. It means that doubts and fears from the past are surfacing. These old, buried feelings come to the surface, to be dealt with.

It is then that a person should bang their cymbals, like Jehoshaphat, and give thanks for their salvation, even when it feels like they are surrounded by enemies (the struggles of lack or illness). The student asked, “How long must someone stay in the dark?” and I replied, “Until they can see in the dark,” and “casting the burden helps one see in the dark.”

To impress the subconscious, having active faith is always essential.

“Faith without action is useless.” In these chapters, I have tried to emphasize this point.

Jesus Christ demonstrated active faith when “He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground,” before He gave thanks for the bread and the fish.

I’ll give another example to show how essential this step is. In fact, active faith is the bridge that allows a person to reach their Promised Land.

Through a misunderstanding, a woman had been separated from her husband, whom she loved deeply. He rejected all attempts at reconciliation and would not communicate with her at all.

Coming to understand Spiritual law, she rejected the idea of separation. She said, “There is no separation in Divine Mind, so I cannot be separated from the love and companionship that are mine by divine right.”

She demonstrated her strong faith by setting a spot for[Pg 52] him at the table every day, creating a mental image of his return. More than a year went by, but she never faltered, and one day he showed up.

The subconscious is often influenced by music. Music has a unique quality that lifts the soul from confinement. It makes extraordinary things feel possible and easy to achieve!

I have a friend who uses her Victrola every day for this purpose. It puts her in perfect harmony and sparks her imagination.

Another woman often dances while stating her affirmations. The rhythm and harmony of the music and movement amplify her words with great power.

The student must also remember not to underestimate the "day of small things."

Invariably, before a demonstration, there are always “signs of land.”

Before Columbus arrived in America, he noticed birds and twigs that indicated land was close. The same is true for a demonstration; however, often the student confuses it with the actual demonstration and ends up disappointed.

For example: A woman had “spoken the word” for a set of dishes. Not long after that, a friend gave her a dish that was old and cracked.

She came up to me and said, “So, I asked for a set of dishes, and all I got was a broken plate.”

I replied, “The plate was just a sign of land. It shows your dishes are on the way—think of it as birds and seaweed,” and not long after that, the dishes arrived.

Continually "pretending" influences the subconscious. If someone pretends to be rich and pretends to be successful, in "due time, they will reap."

Children are always "pretending," and "unless you change and become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

For example: I know a woman who was very poor, but no one could make her feel poor. She made a little money from wealthy friends, who constantly reminded her of her poverty and told her to be careful and save. Despite their warnings, she would spend all her earnings on a hat or buy someone a gift, and she would be in a blissful state of mind. Her thoughts were always focused on beautiful clothes and “rings and things,” but she never envied others.

She lived in a world of wonders, where only wealth felt real to her. Soon, she married a wealthy man, and the jewelry and luxuries became tangible. I can't say if he was the "Divine Selection," but luxury had to appear in her life since she only imagined a life of abundance.

There is no peace or happiness for a person until they have eliminated all fear from their subconscious.

Fear is a misdirection of energy and needs to be redirected or transformed into Faith.

Jesus Christ said, “Why are you afraid, you of little faith?” “All things are possible for those who believe.”

I’m frequently asked by my students, “How can I get rid of fear?”

I answer, “By confronting what you’re afraid of.”

“The lion's fierceness comes from your fear.”

Walk up to the lion, and he will vanish; run away and he chases you.

I have shown in previous chapters how the lion of scarcity vanished when a person spent money confidently, trusting that God was their source and therefore always reliable.

Many of my students have broken free from the grip of poverty and are now abundantly provided for by losing all fear of spending money. The subconscious understands the truth that God is the Giver and the Gift; therefore, when a person is connected to the Giver, they are also connected to the Gift. A powerful affirmation is, “I now thank God the Giver for God the Gift.”

Man has distanced himself from his wellbeing and resources for so long through thoughts of separation and scarcity that sometimes it takes a huge event to shake these false beliefs out of the subconscious, and that big event acts like dynamite.

We see in the previous example how the individual was freed from his bondage by showing fearlessness.

A person should check in with themselves regularly to see if their motivation for acting comes from fear or from faith.

“Choose today whom we will serve,” fear or faith.

Maybe the fear is about personality. So, don’t shy away from the people you fear; be ready to meet them with a smile, and they will either become valuable connections in your journey or fade away smoothly from your life.

Perhaps someone fears disease or germs. Then[Pg 55] they should be fearless and calm in a germ-filled situation, and they would be immune.

One can only catch germs if they are vibrating at the same frequency as the germ, and fear lowers people to the level of the germ. Naturally, the disease-causing germ comes from the carnal mind, as all thoughts must manifest. Germs do not exist in the superconscious or Divine Mind; they are, therefore, a result of man’s “vain imagination.”

"In the blink of an eye," a person will be freed when they understand there is no power in evil.

The physical world will disappear, and the fourth-dimensional world, the "World of the Wondrous," will come into being.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth—and there will be no more death, no sorrow or crying, and there won’t be any more pain; for the former things have passed away.”

Every man on this planet is experiencing his initiation in love. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another.” Ouspensky says in “Tertium Organum” that “love is a cosmic phenomenon,” and it opens up for mankind the fourth-dimensional world, “The World of the Wondrous.”

Real love is selfless and free from fear. It devotes itself to the person it cares about without expecting anything in return. Its joy comes from the joy of giving. Love is a manifestation of God and the strongest magnetic force in the universe. Pure, unselfish love naturally attracts what belongs to it; it doesn’t have to chase or demand. Almost no one truly understands real love. People are selfish, controlling, or fearful in their feelings, which leads them to lose the ones they love. Jealousy is love's worst enemy, as it causes our imagination to run wild, envisioning the person we love being drawn to someone else, and usually, these fears become reality if they aren't addressed.

For example: A woman came to me in deep distress. The man she loved had left her for other women and said he never intended to marry her.[Pg 57] She was filled with jealousy and resentment and said she hoped he would suffer as much as she had; and added, “How could he leave me when I loved him so much?”

I said, “You don’t love that guy; you hate him,” and added, “You can’t get what you’ve never given. Give perfect love, and you’ll receive perfect love. Focus on being perfect for this man. Give him a perfect, selfless love, expecting nothing in return, don’t criticize or judge, and bless him wherever he is.”

She responded, “No, I won’t bless him unless I know where he is!”

“Well,” I said, “that’s not true love.”

“When you send out real love, real love will come back to you, either from this man or someone like him, because if he isn’t the right choice for you, you won’t want him. Since you are one with God, you are also one with the love that is rightfully yours.”

Several months went by, and things stayed pretty much the same, but she was making a real effort to change. I said, “When you’re no longer affected by his cruelty, he will stop being cruel, because you’re drawing it in with your own feelings.”

Then I told her about a brotherhood in India that never said, “Good morning” to each other. Instead, they used these words: “I salute the Divinity in you.” They honored the divinity in every person and in the wild animals in the jungle, and they were never harmed because they saw only God in every living thing. I said, “Salute the divinity in this man and say, ‘I see your divine self only. I see you as God sees[Pg 58] you, perfect, made in His image and likeness.’”

She noticed that she was becoming more composed and slowly letting go of her resentment. He was a Captain, and she always called him “The Cap.”

One day, she said suddenly, “God bless the Cap wherever he is.”

I replied, “That’s genuine love, and when you’ve become a ‘complete circle’ and are no longer affected by the situation, you will have his love or attract something similar.”

I was in the process of moving and didn’t have a phone, so I lost touch with her for a few weeks. Then one morning, I got a letter that said, “We are married.”

At the first chance I got, I visited her. My first words were, “What happened?”

“Oh,” she exclaimed, “a miracle! One day I woke up and all suffering had stopped. I saw him that evening, and he asked me to marry him. We got married in about a week, and I’ve never seen a more devoted man.”

There’s an old saying: “No one is your enemy, no one is your friend, everyone is your teacher.”

So, you should try to be objective and understand what each person has to teach you, and soon you’ll learn your lessons and be free.

The woman's partner was showing her what it means to love selflessly, a lesson that every man will have to learn eventually.

Suffering isn’t essential for a person's growth; it comes from breaking spiritual laws, yet not many people seem to wake up from their “soul sleep” without it. When people are[Pg 59] happy, they often become selfish, and that’s when the law of Karma kicks in. People frequently suffer loss because they fail to appreciate what they have.

I knew a woman who had a really nice husband, but she often said, “I don’t care at all about being married, but that doesn’t reflect on my husband. I’m just not interested in married life.”

She had other interests and barely remembered she had a husband. She only thought of him when she saw him. One day, her husband told her he was in love with another woman and left. She came to me, feeling upset and angry.

I responded, “It's exactly what you asked for. You said you didn't care about getting married, so your subconscious worked to keep you single.”

She said, “Oh yes, I get it. People get what they want, and then they end up feeling really hurt.”

She quickly found herself in perfect harmony with the situation and realized they were both much happier apart.

When a woman becomes indifferent or critical, and stops being an inspiration to her husband, he misses the excitement of their early relationship and feels restless and unhappy.

A man came to me feeling down, unhappy, and broke. His wife was into the "Science of Numbers" and had his reading done. Apparently, the report wasn't very good, because he said, "My wife says I’ll never be anything because I’m a two."

I replied, “I don’t care what your number is; you are an incredible idea in the divine mind, and we will claim the success and prosperity that are already planned for you by that Infinite Intelligence.”

Within a few weeks, he landed a great job, and a year or two later, he found impressive success as a writer. No one succeeds in business unless they are passionate about what they do. The artwork an artist creates out of love (for their craft) is their finest piece. A work done just for money is always something to move past.

No one can attract money if they look down on it. Many people stay in poverty by claiming, “Money doesn't matter to me, and I have no respect for those who have it.”

This is why so many artists struggle financially. Their disdain for money keeps them away from it.

I remember hearing one artist say about another, “He’s not a good artist; he has money in the bank.”

This mindset, of course, creates a divide between a person and what they need; they must be in sync with something to draw it in.

Money represents freedom from need and constraints, but it should always be kept circulating and used wisely. Hoarding and saving can have serious negative consequences.

This doesn't mean that people shouldn't have homes, property, stocks, and bonds, because "the barns of the righteous will be full." It means that people shouldn't hoard even the principal amount when an opportunity arises where money is needed. By letting it go freely and happily, they open the door for more to come in, because God is a person's limitless and constant supply.[Pg 61]

This is the mindset about money, and the great Bank of the Universe is always reliable!

We see an example of hoarding in the film production of “Greed.” The woman won five thousand dollars in a lottery but refused to spend it. She hoarded and saved, letting her husband suffer and go hungry, and eventually, she had to scrub floors for a living.

She loved money more than anything else, and one night she was murdered, and the money was taken from her.

This is an example of where "the love of money is the root of all evil." Money itself is good and helpful, but when it's used for harmful purposes, hoarded, saved, or treated as more important than love, it leads to sickness and disaster, and ultimately, the loss of the money itself.

Follow the path of love, and you’ll gain everything, because God is love, and God provides; follow the path of selfishness and greed, and what you need disappears, or you are cut off from it.

For example, I knew about a very wealthy woman who saved all her money. She hardly ever donated anything, but kept buying and buying things for herself.

She loved necklaces, and a friend once asked her how many she had. She replied, “Sixty-seven.” She bought them and stored them away, carefully wrapped in tissue paper. If she had actually worn the necklaces, it would have been totally fine, but she was breaking “the law of use.” Her[Pg 62] closets were filled with clothes she never wore and jewelry that never saw the light of day.

The woman’s arms were slowly becoming paralyzed from holding on to things, and eventually, she was deemed unable to take care of her own affairs, so her wealth was given over to others to manage.

So a person, unaware of the law, causes their own downfall.

All disease and unhappiness come from breaking the law of love. The hate, resentment, and criticism a person throws out come back filled with sickness and sorrow. Love feels like a nearly forgotten art, but someone who understands spiritual law knows it has to be reclaimed; without it, they have “become like sounding brass and clanging cymbals.”

For example: I had a student who came to me, month after month, to clear her mind of resentment. After a while, she got to the point where she only resented one woman, but that one woman kept her occupied. Little by little, she became balanced and at peace, and one day, all resentment was gone.

She walked in glowing and said, “You can’t understand how I feel! The woman said something to me, and instead of getting angry, I was loving and kind, and she apologized and was really nice to me."

No one can understand the amazing lightness I feel inside!

Love and goodwill are priceless in business.

For example: A woman came to me, complaining[Pg 63] about her boss. She said she was distant and harsh and knew she didn’t want her in the role.

“Well,” I replied, “Honor the divine in the woman and send her love.”

She said, “I can’t; she’s a marble woman.”

I replied, “You remember the story about the sculptor who requested a specific piece of marble. When he was asked why he wanted it, he said, ‘because there’s an angel in the marble,’ and he ended up creating a beautiful piece of art from it.”

She said, “Alright, I’ll give it a shot.” A week later, she returned and said, “I did what you suggested, and now the woman is really nice and took me out in her car.”

People sometimes feel regret for having treated someone poorly, maybe even years ago.

If you can't fix the wrong, you can counter its impact by doing something nice for someone now.

“This one thing I focus on: letting go of what's behind me and looking forward to what's ahead.”

Sorrow, regret, and remorse break down the body's cells and poison a person's environment.

A woman said to me, feeling very sad, “Make me happy and joyful, because my sadness makes me so irritable with my family that I end up creating more bad Karma.”

I was asked to help a woman who was mourning for her daughter. I refused to accept the idea of loss and separation and insisted that God was the woman’s joy, love, and peace.

The woman regained her composure immediately, but sent a message through her son not to continue discussing it, because she was “so happy, it wasn’t proper.”

So the "mortal mind" loves to cling to its sorrows and regrets.

I knew a woman who always went around talking about her problems, so naturally, she always had something to complain about.

The old belief was that if a woman didn’t care about her children, she wasn’t a good mother.

Now, we understand that parental fear causes many of the illnesses and accidents that happen in children's lives.

For fear clearly shows the disease or situation that is feared, and these images make it more real, even if they don't completely remove it.

Happy is the mother who can sincerely say that she puts her child in God's hands and knows that he is divinely protected.

For example: A woman woke up suddenly in the night, sensing that her brother was in serious danger. Instead of succumbing to her fears, she started affirming the Truth, saying, “Man is a perfect idea in Divine Mind, and is always where he needs to be; therefore, my brother is where he needs to be and is divinely protected.”

The next day she discovered that her brother had been near a mine explosion but had miraculously escaped.

So, a person is responsible for their brother (in thought), and everyone should recognize that what they cherish resides in “the secret place of the most high, and lives under the shadow of the Almighty.”

"There will be no harm come to you, nor will any disease approach your home."

“Perfect love drives out fear. The one who fears is not made whole in love,” and “Love is the fulfillment of the Law.”

There’s nothing too great to achieve for a person who understands the power of their words and follows their instincts. With their words, they set unseen forces in motion and can transform their body or reshape their circumstances.

It is, therefore, extremely important to choose the right words, and the student carefully selects the statement he wants to launch into the unseen.

He knows that God provides for him, that there’s a resource for every need, and that his spoken words unleash this support.

"Ask and you shall receive."

Man must take the first step. “Come close to God and He will come close to you.”

I’ve often been asked how to put together a demonstration.

I respond: “Say the word and then don't do anything until you get a clear sign.” Ask for the sign, saying, “Infinite Spirit, show me the way, let me know if there's anything I need to do.”

The answer will come through intuition (or a gut feeling); a casual comment from someone, a line in a book, and so on. The answers can be surprisingly precise. For example: A woman wanted a large amount of money. She said, “Infinite Spirit, open the way for my immediate supply, let everything that’s rightfully mine come to me now, in great avalanches of abundance.” Then she added, “Give me a clear direction, let me know if there’s anything I need to do.”

The idea popped into her head, “Give a certain friend” (who had helped her spiritually) “a hundred dollars.” She mentioned this to her friend, who replied, “Hold on and see if you get another opportunity before giving it.” So she waited, and that day she ran into a woman who said to her, “I gave someone a dollar today; it meant just as much to me as it would for you to give someone a hundred.”

This was definitely a clear clue, so she felt justified in giving the hundred dollars. It turned out to be a great investment because soon after, a significant amount of money came her way in an amazing manner.

Giving paves the way for receiving. To stimulate financial activity, you should give. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, is an ancient Jewish practice that is guaranteed to bring growth. Many of the wealthiest individuals in this country have practiced tithing, and I've never seen it fail as an investment.

The tenth part goes out and comes back blessed and multiplied. However, the gift or tithe should be given with love and joy, because "God loves a cheerful giver." Bills should be paid happily; all money should be sent out fearlessly and with a blessing.

This mindset puts a person in control of money. It's meant to serve him, and his words can unlock huge amounts of wealth.

Man limits his supply by his narrow perspective. Sometimes the student has a powerful realization of wealth but is too afraid to take action.

The vision and action need to go together, like the man who bought the fur-lined overcoat.

A woman came to me asking me to “speak the word” for a job. So I said: “Infinite Spirit, clear the path for this woman’s rightful job.” Never ask for just “a job”; ask for the right job, the one that’s already intended in Divine Mind, because it’s the only one that will truly bring satisfaction.

I then gave thanks that she had already received, and that it would show up soon. Very quickly, she got three job offers, two in New York and one in Palm Beach, and she didn’t know which one to pick. I said, “Ask for a clear answer.”

The time was almost up and I was still undecided when one day, she called and said, “When I woke up this morning, I could smell Palm Beach.” She had been there before and recognized its warm, inviting scent.

I answered, “Well, if you can smell Palm Beach from here, it’s definitely your lead.” She took the position, and it turned out to be a huge success. Often, a lead comes at an unexpected moment.

One day, I was walking down the street when I suddenly had a strong urge to visit a bakery a block or two away.

The logical mind fought back, saying, “There’s nothing here that you need.”

However, I had learned not to think too much, so I went to the bakery, looked at everything, and there really wasn't anything there that I wanted, but as I was leaving, I ran into a woman I had thought about often, and she was in desperate need of the help I could offer her.

So often, you set out for one thing and end up with something else.

Intuition is a spiritual ability and doesn’t explain, but simply points the way.

A person often gets a hint during a "treatment." The thought that pops up might seem completely unrelated, but some of God’s guidance is "mysterious."

In class one day, I was working on the idea that everyone would get a clear direction. A woman approached me afterward and said, “While you were speaking, I felt inspired to take my furniture out of storage and get an apartment.” She had come to me for health issues. I told her I believed that once she had her own home, her health would get better. I added, “I think your problem, which is congestion, has come from keeping things stored away. Clutter around you creates clutter in your body. You’ve broken the law of use, and your body is suffering the consequences.”

So I was grateful that “Divine order was established in her mind, body, and affairs.”

People rarely realize how their thoughts affect their bodies. There's a mental connection for every illness. A person could experience immediate healing by understanding that their body is a perfect idea in the Divine Mind, and therefore whole and perfect. However, if they keep engaging in destructive thoughts like hoarding, hating, fearing, or condemning, the illness will come back.[Pg 70]

Jesus Christ knew that all illness came from sin, but after healing the leper, he warned him to go and sin no more, or something worse might happen to him.

So a person's soul (or subconscious mind) has to be cleansed to a pure white for lasting healing; and the metaphysician is always exploring deeply for the "correspondence."

Jesus Christ said, "Don't judge, or you will be judged too."

“Don’t judge others, or you’ll be judged.”

Many people have brought illness and sadness upon themselves by judging others.

What a person criticizes in others, they bring upon themselves.

For example: A friend came to me upset and angry because her husband had left her for another woman. She criticized the other woman and kept saying, “She knew he was married and had no right to accept his attention.”

I replied, “Stop judging the woman, wish her well, and move on, otherwise, you’re just bringing the same negativity upon yourself.”

She didn't hear what I said, and a year or two later, she became really interested in a married guy herself.

A person takes a risk whenever they criticize or condemn someone, and they should be ready for backlash.

Indecision is a hurdle in many paths.[Pg 71] To get past it, repeatedly say, “I am always inspired; I make quick, right decisions.”

These words affect the subconscious, and soon you find yourself awake and alert, making the right choices without hesitation. I've found it harmful to seek guidance from the psychic plane, as it consists of many minds and not "The One Mind."

As a person opens their mind to subjectivity, they become a target for destructive forces. The psychic realm is the result of human thought and exists on the "plane of opposites." They may receive either positive or negative messages.

The study of numbers and the interpretation of horoscopes keep people grounded in a mental (or earthly) state, as they only concern themselves with the Karmic path.

I know a guy who was supposed to be dead years ago, based on his horoscope, but he's alive and is leading one of the biggest movements in this country to uplift humanity.

It takes a really strong mind to cancel out a prophecy of evil. The student should say, “Every false prophecy will come to nothing; every plan that my Father in heaven hasn't made will be wiped out and dispersed, the divine idea is coming to fruition now.”

However, if you've ever received a positive message about future happiness or wealth, hold onto that hope and anticipate it, and it will eventually come true, thanks to the law of expectancy.

A person's will should support the universal will. “I want God's will to be done.”

It’s God’s will to grant every person every good desire of their heart, and a person's will should be used to maintain that perfect vision, without hesitation.

The prodigal son said, “I will get up and go to my Father.”

It is, after all, often a struggle to move beyond the shallow concerns of everyday thinking. It's much easier, for most people, to feel fear than to have faith; so having faith takes willpower.

As a person becomes spiritually awakened, they realize that any external disharmony reflects their inner mental disharmony. If they stumble or fall, they understand that it is a reflection of stumbling or falling in their consciousness.

One day, a student was walking down the street, judging someone in her mind. She was thinking, “That woman is the most unpleasant person on earth,” when suddenly three boy scouts came running around the corner and nearly knocked her over. She didn’t criticize the boy scouts but immediately embraced the idea of forgiveness and acknowledged the goodness in the woman. Wisdom's ways are pleasant, and all her paths lead to peace.

When you’ve made your requests to the Universe, you have to be prepared for surprises. Everything might seem to be falling apart, when in fact, it’s actually coming together.

For example: A woman was told that there was no loss in divine mind, therefore, she could not lose anything that belonged to her; anything lost would be returned, or she would receive its equivalent.

Several years earlier, she had lost two thousand[Pg 73] dollars. She had lent the money to a relative while she was alive, but after the relative died, there was no mention of it in the will. The woman felt resentful and angry, and since she didn't have any written proof of the loan, she never got the money back. So she decided to ignore the loss and try to collect the two thousand dollars from the Bank of the Universal. She realized she first needed to forgive the woman because holding onto resentment and unforgiveness would only shut the doors to this amazing bank.

She said, “I refuse to accept loss; there’s no loss in Divine Mind, so I can’t lose the two thousand dollars that rightfully belong to me.” “When one door closes, another opens.”

She was living in an apartment building that was for sale, and the lease included a clause saying that if the building sold, the tenants would have to move out within ninety days.

Suddenly, the landlord canceled the leases and raised the rent. Once more, injustice crossed her path, but this time she was unfazed. She blessed the landlord and said, “Since the rent has gone up, that just means I’ll be richer, because God is my source.”

New leases were created for the upfront rent, but by some divine oversight, the ninety-day clause was overlooked. Shortly after, the landlord had a chance to sell the house. Because of the error in the new leases, the tenants stayed for another year.

The agent offered each tenant two hundred dollars to move out. Several families left; three stayed, including the woman. A month or two went by, and the agent showed up again. This time he asked the woman, “Will you break your lease for fifteen hundred dollars?” It occurred to her, “Here comes the two thousand dollars.” She recalled telling her friends in the building, “We will all stand together if there’s any talk about leaving.” So her next step was to talk to her friends.

These friends said: “Well, if they’ve offered you fifteen hundred, they’ll definitely give you two thousand.” So she got a check for two thousand dollars for giving up the apartment. It was definitely a remarkable application of the law, and the seeming injustice was just paving the way for her to prove her point.

It showed that there’s no loss, and when a person takes their spiritual stand, they gather everything that belongs to them from this great Reservoir of Good.

“I will give back to you the years that the locusts have taken away.”

The locusts represent the doubts, fears, resentments, and regrets of human thought.

These negative thoughts, by themselves, take away from a person; for “No one gives to themselves but themselves, and no one takes away from themselves, but themselves.”

Man is here to show God and “to bear witness to the truth,” and he can only prove God by bringing abundance out of scarcity and fairness out of unfairness.

“Prove me now, says the Lord of hosts, if I won't open the windows of heaven for you and pour out such a blessing that there won't be enough room to take it in."

Each person has their own perfect way to express themselves. There’s a specific role only they can fulfill and a task only they can complete; that’s their destiny!

This achievement exists as a perfect idea in the Divine Mind, waiting for humans to recognize it. Since the imaging ability is the creative ability, it’s essential for people to visualize the idea before it can become real.

So a person's greatest desire is for the Divine Design of their life.

He might not have the slightest idea of what it is, because there could be some amazing talent buried deep inside him.

His demand should be: “Infinite Spirit, clear the path for the Divine Design of my life to unfold; let the genius within me be unleashed; let me see the perfect plan clearly.”

The ideal plan involves health, wealth, love, and authentic self-expression. This is the square of life, which leads to true happiness. When someone makes this request, they may notice significant changes occurring in their life, as most people have strayed far from the Divine Design.

I know of one woman whose life was turned upside down like a cyclone had hit it, but she adapted quickly, and new and amazing opportunities emerged to replace the old ones.

Perfect self-expression will never feel like work; instead, it will be so engaging that it will seem almost like play. The student also understands that just as a person enters the world supported by God, the supply needed for their perfect self-expression will be available.

Many geniuses have struggled for years with the issue of funding when their words and faith could have quickly unlocked the necessary money.

For example: After class one day, a man came up to me and gave me a penny.

He said, “I only have seven cents to my name, and I’m going to give you one because I believe in the power of your words. I want you to use your words for my perfect self-expression and success.”

I "said the word," and didn’t see him again until a year later. He walked in one day, successful and happy, with a stack of cash in his pocket. He said, "Right after you said the word, I got a job offer in a far-off city, and now I’m living a life full of health, happiness, and abundance."

A woman's ideal way of expressing herself might be by being a perfect wife, a perfect mother, and a perfect homemaker, rather than by having a public career.

Demand clear direction, and the path will be easy and successful.

One shouldn’t try to create or force a mental image. When he asks for the Divine Design to enter his conscious mind, he will get bursts of inspiration and start to envision himself achieving something significant. This is the image or concept he must maintain without hesitation.

The thing that man is looking for is also looking for him—the telephone was looking for Bell!

Parents should never impose careers and professions on their children. With an understanding of spiritual Truth, the Divine Plan could be expressed early in childhood, or even before birth.

A prenatal treatment should be: “Let the spirit within this child shine fully; may the Divine Plan for his mind, body, and life be evident throughout his existence, forever.”

God’s will be done, not man’s; God’s pattern, not man’s pattern, is the message we see throughout all the scriptures, and the Bible is a book that addresses the science of the mind. It is a book that guides people on how to free their soul (or subconscious mind) from captivity.

The battles described are images of people fighting against negative thoughts. “A person’s enemies will be those from their own home.” Everyone is Jehoshaphat, and everyone is David, who defeats Goliath (negative thinking) with the small white stone (faith).

So a person needs to be careful not to be the “wicked and lazy servant” who buried his talent. There's a serious consequence for not using one's abilities.

Often, fear blocks people from fully expressing themselves. Stage fright has held back many talented individuals. This can be overcome through speaking or other methods. The person then loses all self-awareness and simply feels like a channel for Infinite Intelligence to flow through.

He is directly inspired, fearless, and self-assured; he knows it’s the “Father within” him who gets the job done.

A young boy frequently came to my class with his mom. He asked me to “speak the word” for his upcoming exams at school.

I told him to say, “I am one with Infinite Intelligence. I know everything I need to know about this topic.” He had a great understanding of history, but wasn't confident in his math skills. I met him later, and he said, “I affirmed my math, and I passed with flying colors; but I thought I could rely on myself for history, and I ended up with a really low score.” People often face setbacks when they are “too confident” in themselves, which means they are relying on their personality instead of the “inner spirit.”

Another one of my students gave me an example of this. She took a long trip abroad one summer, visiting many countries where she didn’t speak the languages. She was asking for help and protection every minute, and everything went smoothly and almost magically. Her luggage[Pg 79] was never delayed or lost! Accommodations were always set up for her at the best hotels, and she received excellent service wherever she went. When she returned to New York, knowing the language, she felt that God was no longer needed, so she managed her affairs in a normal way.

Everything went wrong, her luggage was delayed, surrounded by chaos and confusion. The student needs to develop the habit of “practicing the Presence of God” every moment. “In all thy ways acknowledge him;” nothing is too small or too big.

Sometimes a minor event can be the turning point in a person's life.

Robert Fulton, observing some boiling water simmering in a tea kettle, imagined a steamboat!

I have frequently seen a student hold back his demonstration, either through resistance or by indicating the path.

He relies on just one source and insists on exactly how he wants things to happen, which causes everything to come to a halt.

“My way, not your way!” is the directive of Infinite Intelligence. Like any form of power, whether it's steam or electricity, it requires a nonresistant engine or tool to operate, and humans serve as that engine or tool.

Over and over again, people are told to “stand still.” “Oh Judah, don’t be afraid; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you. You won’t need to fight this battle; just position yourselves, stand still, and see the Lord's salvation with you.”

We see this in the events where the woman received two thousand dollars from the landlord when she became nonresistant and undisturbed,[Pg 80] and the woman who won the man’s love “after all suffering had stopped.”

The student’s goal is Confidence! Confidence is Strength, because it allows divine energy to flow through a person, to “will and to do Its good pleasure.”

Calm and collected, he thinks clearly and makes the right decisions quickly. "He never misses a beat."

Anger clouds your judgment, poisons your mind, is the root of many illnesses, and leads to poor choices that result in failure.

It has been labeled one of the worst "sins," as its consequences are so damaging. The student discovers that in metaphysics, sin has a much wider meaning than in the old teachings. "Anything that is not based on faith is sin."

He realizes that fear and worry are serious problems. They twist faith and, through warped mental images, cause the very things he fears to happen. His job is to banish these foes from his subconscious mind. “When a person is fearless, he is done for!” Maeterlinck states that “A person is just God in fear.”

So, as we read in the previous chapters: Man can only overcome fear by approaching the thing he fears. When Jehoshaphat and his army got ready to confront the enemy, singing “Praise the Lord, for his mercy endures forever,” they discovered that their enemies had destroyed one another, and there was nothing left to fight.

For example: A woman asked a friend to pass a message to another friend. The woman was hesitant to deliver the message, as her rational mind told her, “Stay out of this situation, don’t give that message.”

She was feeling anxious because she had made a promise. Finally, she decided to “face the lion” and trust in divine protection. She met the friend she needed to deliver the message to. She opened her mouth to speak, but her friend said, “So-and-So has left town.” This made it pointless to pass on the message since the situation relied on that person being in town. Since she was willing to deliver it, she didn’t have to; and since she wasn't afraid, the situation disappeared.

The student often puts off his demonstration because he feels it's not finished. He should say this:

“In Divine Mind, everything is complete, so my demonstration is finished. My perfect work, my perfect home, my perfect health.” Whatever he asks for are perfect ideas recorded in Divine Mind and must come into being, “under grace in a perfect way.” He expresses gratitude for what he has already received in the unseen and actively prepares to receive in the seen.

One of my students needed a financial demonstration. She came to me and asked why it wasn't done.

I replied, “Maybe you’ve gotten used to leaving things unfinished, and your subconscious has picked up the habit of not completing things (as above, so below).”

She said, “You’re right. I often start things and never finish them.”

“I’ll go home and finish something I started weeks ago, and I know it will represent my message.”

So she sewed diligently, and the piece was soon finished. Shortly after, the money arrived in a very strange way.

Her husband received his salary twice that month. He informed the people about their mistake, and they responded by saying to keep it.

When a person asks, believing, they will receive, because God creates His own pathways!

I’ve been asked sometimes, “If someone has multiple talents, how do they know which one to pick?” Just ask for clarity. Say: “Infinite Spirit, guide me clearly, show me my best self-expression, tell me which talent I should focus on right now.”

I’ve seen people jump into a new job and be totally ready, with little or no training. So say this: “I am fully equipped for the Divine Plan of my life,” and don’t hesitate to seize opportunities.

Some people are generous givers but poor receivers. They turn down gifts out of pride or for some negative reason, which closes off their channels, and they often end up with little or nothing. For instance, a woman who had given away a lot of money was offered a gift of several thousand dollars. She declined, saying she didn’t need it. Shortly after, her finances were “tied up,” and she ended up in debt for that amount. People should graciously accept the blessings that come back to them—what you give freely, you shall receive freely.

There’s always a perfect balance between giving[Pg 83] and receiving, and while people should give without expecting anything in return, they break the law if they don’t accept the returns that come their way; all gifts come from God, with humans just being the channel.

A thought of scarcity should never be held against the giver.

For example: When the man gave me a penny, I didn’t think, “Poor guy, he can’t afford to give me that.” I saw him as wealthy and thriving, with his resources flowing in. It was this mindset that attracted it. If someone has been a poor receiver, they need to become a good one and accept even a postage stamp if it’s offered to them, opening up their channels for receiving.

The Lord loves a cheerful receiver just as much as a cheerful giver.

I’ve often been asked why some people are born rich and healthy while others are born poor and sick.

Wherever there’s an effect, there’s always a cause; chance doesn’t exist.

This question is answered through the law of reincarnation. A person experiences many lives and deaths until they learn the truth that sets them free.

He is pulled back to the earthly realm by unfulfilled desire, to settle his Karmic debts, or to "achieve his destiny."

The man who was born wealthy and healthy has images in his subconscious from his past life of health and riches; while the poor and sick man has images of illness and poverty. A person reflects, in any aspect of life, the total of their subconscious beliefs.

However, birth and death are human-created concepts,[Pg 84] for the “wages of sin is death”; the Adamic fall in consciousness through the belief in two powers. The true person, spiritual person, is without birth and without death! They were never born and have never died—“As they were in the beginning, they are now, and ever shall be!”

So through the truth, a person is liberated from the law of Karma, sin, and death, and reveals the person made in “His image and likeness.” A person’s freedom comes from fulfilling their destiny, bringing to life the Divine Design of their life.

His lord will say to him: “Well done, you good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in the little things; I will make you ruler over many things (even death itself); enter into the joy of your Lord (eternal life).”

"You will also declare something, and it will be established for you."

All the good that can be revealed in a person's life already exists in the divine mind and is released through that person's awareness or spoken words. Therefore, one must be careful to declare that only the Divine Idea be revealed, because often, through "idle words," they may unintentionally decree failure or misfortune.

It is, therefore, extremely important to phrase one’s demands correctly, as mentioned in a previous chapter.

If someone wants a home, a friend, a job, or anything else good, ask for the "divine selection."

For example: “Infinite Spirit, please open the way for my perfect home, my perfect friend, my perfect position. I’m grateful it is now coming to life easily and perfectly.”

The last part of the statement is the most important. For example: I knew a woman who asked for a thousand dollars. Her daughter was hurt and they received a thousand dollars in compensation, so it didn’t come in a “perfect way.”[Pg 86] The request should have been phrased like this: “Infinite Spirit, I give thanks that the one thousand dollars, which is mine by divine right, is now released and comes to me with grace, in a perfect way.”

As one becomes more aware of finances, they should expect that the significant amounts of money, which are rightfully theirs, come to them effortlessly and in harmonious ways.

It’s impossible for someone to achieve more than they believe is possible, as they're constrained by the limited expectations of their subconscious. They need to expand their expectations to be able to receive more.

Man often limits himself in his expectations. For example: A student requested six hundred dollars by a certain date. He got it, but later heard that he almost received a thousand dollars; however, he was only given six hundred because of what he had said.

“They limited the Holy One of Israel.” Wealth is a state of mind. The French have a story that illustrates this. A poor man was walking down a road when he encountered a traveler, who stopped him and said: “My good friend, I see you are in need. Take this gold nugget, sell it, and you will be wealthy for the rest of your life.”

The man was thrilled about his good luck and took the nugget home. He quickly found work and became so successful that he didn’t sell the nugget. Years flew by, and he became a very wealthy man. One day, he came across a poor man on the road. He stopped him and said, “My good friend,[Pg 87] I’ll give you this gold nugget, which, if you sell it, will make you rich for life.” The beggar took the nugget, got it appraised, and found out it was just brass. So, we see that the first man grew rich by feeling wealthy, believing the nugget was gold.

Every person has a gold nugget inside themselves; it is their awareness of wealth and abundance that attracts riches into their life. When making their requests, a person starts at their journey’s end, meaning they state they have already received. “Before you call, I will answer.”

Continually affirming builds belief in the subconscious.

It wouldn't be necessary to affirm something more than once if you had perfect faith! You shouldn't plead or beg, but instead, keep giving thanks for what you've received.

“The desert will celebrate and bloom like a rose.” This celebration that happens in the desert (a state of mind) paves the way for freedom. The Lord’s Prayer is structured as a command: “Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors,” and concludes with praise, “For yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever. Amen.” “Regarding the works of my hands, you can command me.” So prayer involves command and demand, praise and gratitude. The student's task is to convince himself that “with God, all things are possible.”

This is easy to say in theory, but it's a bit more challenging when faced with a[Pg 88] problem. For example: A woman needed to show a large amount of money within a certain timeframe. She understood she had to take action to make it happen (because realization means making it real), and she asked for a “lead.”

She was walking through a department store when she spotted a gorgeous pink enamel paper cutter. She felt drawn to it. A thought crossed her mind: “I don’t have a paper cutter nice enough to open letters with big checks.”

So she bought the paper cutter, which anyone sensible might have called a luxury. When she held it in her hand, she envisioned herself opening an envelope with a big check inside, and a few weeks later, she got the money. The pink paper cutter was her symbol of active faith.

Many stories are shared about the strength of the subconscious when aligned with faith.

For example: A man was spending the night in a farmhouse. The windows in the room had been nailed shut, and in the middle of the night he felt suffocated and went to the window in the dark. He couldn't open it, so he broke the glass with his fist, took in refreshing drafts of air, and had a great night's sleep.

The next morning, he discovered that he had broken the glass of a bookcase, and the window had stayed closed all night. He had provided himself with oxygen simply by thinking about it.

When a student begins to demonstrate, he[Pg 89] should never look back. “Let not the person who wavers believe that they will receive anything from the Lord.”

A student of color once made this amazing statement, “When I ask the Father for anything, I stand firm and say: Father, I want nothing less than what I’ve asked for, but more!” So a person should never settle: “Having done all—Stand.” This is often the toughest time to demonstrate faith. The temptation arises to give up, to turn back, to settle.

"He also serves who just stands and waits."

Demonstrations often happen at the last moment because people then let go, that is, stop overthinking, and Infinite Intelligence gets a chance to act.

“People's gloomy desires are met gloomily, and their impatient desires are either put off for a long time or fulfilled with a rush.”

For example: A woman asked me why she was always losing or breaking her glasses.

She often expressed her frustration to herself and others, saying, “I wish I could get rid of my glasses.” So her impatient wish was forcefully granted. What she should have asked for was perfect vision, but what she really registered in her subconscious was just the urgent desire to be free of her glasses; as a result, they were always getting broken or lost.

Two mindsets lead to loss: undervaluation, like the woman who didn't value her husband, or fear of losing, which creates a mental image of loss in the subconscious.

When a student can let go of their problem (release their burden), they will experience instant results.

For example: A woman was out on a really stormy day and her umbrella got turned inside-out. She was about to visit some people she’d never met and didn’t want to show up with a wrecked umbrella. She couldn’t toss it because it wasn’t hers. So, in desperation, she said: “Oh, God, you take care of this umbrella, I don’t know what to do.”

A moment later, a voice behind her said: “Excuse me, ma’am, do you need your umbrella fixed?” There stood an umbrella repairman.

She replied, "Yes, I do."

The man fixed the umbrella while she went inside the house to visit. When she came back, she had a good umbrella. So there's always someone around to help with repairs when you leave the umbrella (or situation) in God's hands.

One should always follow a no with a yes.

For example: I was called on the phone late one night to treat a man I had never met. He seemed to be very ill. I said, “I reject this appearance of illness. It’s not real, so it can’t register in his awareness; this man is a perfect idea in Divine Mind, pure substance expressing perfection.”

There is no time or space in Divine Mind, so the word reaches its destination instantly[Pg 91] and doesn't “return void.” I've treated patients in Europe and found that the results were immediate.

I'm often asked about the difference between visualizing and visioning. Visualizing is a mental process that relies on reason and conscious thought; visioning is a spiritual process driven by intuition or the superconscious mind. A student should train their mind to receive these bursts of inspiration and develop the “divine pictures” through clear guidance. When a person can say, “I want only what God wants for me,” their false desires fade away, and a new set of blueprints is provided by the Master Architect, the God within. God's plan for each person goes beyond the limits of the reasoning mind and always embodies the essence of life, including health, wealth, love, and perfect self-expression. Many people envision building a bungalow for themselves when they should be creating a palace.

If a student tries to push for a demonstration (using logical reasoning), he brings everything to a halt. "I will speed it up," says the Lord. He should only act based on intuition or clear guidance. "Rest in the Lord and wait patiently. Trust in Him, and He will make it happen."

I have seen the law work in the most amazing way. For example: A student said she needed to have a hundred dollars by the next day. It was an absolutely essential debt that had to be paid. I “spoke the word,” declaring that Spirit was “never too late” and that the supply was available.

That evening she called me about the miracle. She said she had the idea to check her safe-deposit box at the bank to look over some papers. When she went through the papers, she found a brand new one hundred dollar bill at the bottom of the box. She was shocked and insisted she had never put it there since she had gone through the papers several times before. It might have been a materialization, like when Jesus Christ made the loaves and fishes appear. Humanity will eventually reach a point where their “word is made flesh,” or materialized, right away. “The fields, ripe for harvest,” will appear instantly, just like in all the miracles of Jesus Christ.

There is a tremendous power in the name Jesus Christ. It stands for Truth Made Manifest. He said, “Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.”

The power of this name lifts the student into the fourth dimension, where they are free from all astral and psychic influences, and they become “unconditioned and absolute, just as God Himself is unconditioned and absolute.”

I have witnessed many healings happen through the phrase, “In the name of Jesus Christ.”

Christ was both a person and a guiding principle, and the Christ within each person is their Redeemer and source of Salvation.

The Christ within is your own fourth-dimensional self, the person created in God’s image and likeness. This self has never failed, never experienced sickness or sorrow, was never born, and has never died. It is the “resurrection and the life” of[Pg 93] every person! “No one comes to the Father except through the Son” means that God, the Universal, working in the realm of the specific, becomes the Christ in each individual; and the Holy Ghost represents God in action. So every day, people are expressing the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

A person should turn thinking into an art form. The Master Thinker is like an artist, carefully creating only the divine patterns in the canvas of their mind. They paint these images with skillful strokes of confidence and determination, fully believing that nothing can ruin their perfection and that these ideals will become a reality in their life.

All power is given to people (through positive thinking) to bring their heaven upon their earth, and this is the goal of the “Game of Life.”

The basic principles are fearless faith, nonresistance, and love!

May each reader now be free from what has kept them trapped over the years, standing in the way of their true self, and "know the Truth that sets them free"—free to realize their destiny, to bring to life the "Divine Design of their life, Health, Wealth, Love, and Perfect Self-Expression." "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
